What is the name of a movie where the doll comes to life and slowly steals the soul of it's owner?

There was a cat involved somehow - I think it saved the kid's life and the parents thought it was dangerous or something like that. The thing would leave the doll's body at night to go hide in a mouse hole or a crack in the wall.

It's an older movie, one I remember seeing as a kid in the early 90's.|||Stephen King's "Cat's Eye" (1985) starring a young Drew Barrymore?

The General (one of three stories):

The cat is adopted by a little girl, Amanda (Drew Barrymore), who names him General. The cat runs afoul of the girl's mother (Candy Clark), who believes he will harm their pet parrot.

Despite Amanda's protests, the mother puts the cat out at night. As a consequence, he is unable to protect Amanda from a malevolent troll that has also taken up residence in the house. The troll lives in a mouse hole or other opening in the wall and carries a small dagger.

How to fix a porcelain doll's hair without taking off their wig?

I bought a doll from a thrift store and she's amazingly beautiful. She's from the San Fransisco Music Box Co. The only problem is she looks like she last belonged to a two-year-old.

I went to take off her wig and I can't ... I don't know how its attached to her head, to be honest. I don't want to ruin the doll or her clothing (which are made of velvet) I also don't want to ruin any of the mechanics of the music box.

Any suggestions?|||I would look into trying to put another wig on over the existing hair. If you have access to doll supplies, try finding a wig that will just fit over the hair she has now. If you find a suitable wig, very carefully trim off all the old hair as close to the head as possible, then install the old one on over it.

How to know and take care of a Pre - Mattel American Girl Doll?

I think my Samantha doll is pre - mattel. She has different eyelashes, and her vinyl feels different. Her neck is stamped Pleasant Company. Her head is delicate, and sometimes falls out. How can I fix this? How do you take care of pre - mattel dolls? I want to also know, are they worth more. Could you please give some tips on finding a great condition Nellie, for a cheap price. (I have been looking on Ebay.) Thanks!|||Characteristics of PM dolls are as follows:

1. Soft/er eyelashes that match their hair color.

2. Larger and more fully stuffed torsos

3. Larger limbs, feet, and heads

4. Vinyl limbs that are soft and somewhat squishy

5. Some people say the faces of PM dolls have a softer, sweeter expression and that their features are more defined.

6. Many PM dolls do not have body tags.

7. PM dolls are noticeably shorter than Mattel.

If your doll has neck strings just untie them and tighten them so her head won't fall off|||The pre-Mattel dolls are better quality vinyl and their body tag should say Made in West Germany. You may need to remove the plastic tie, and put a new one on to tighten her head. They are worth more to collectors because of the better quality. Keep her out of the sun and in a controlled climate. Just wipe her down with a damp rag.Don't get her body wet.

It is hard to get Nellie cheap because she is retired and they didn't make as many of her as they did Samantha. Watch Craigslist and go to yard sales and thrift stores. Good luck.
