How to dress as a doll for halloween?
I want to be a pretty, porcelain doll for halloween (with my friends). I have the cute makeup planned out, with the big eyes and everything. But I don't want to have to wear a big fluffy dress! How do I wear something true to my costume thats also cute and easy? When will my american girl doll be back from the doll hospital?
I sent her to the doll hospital on March 28,2011, it takes 2 to 3 weeks for it to come back in the mail what date in April whould she come back?|||My daughters American girl Samantha had a run in with our rabbit who chewed off her nose :-( She went to the hospital and came back about two weeks later. How to fix a porcelain doll's hair without taking off their wig?
I bought a doll from a thrift store and she's amazingly beautiful. She's from the San Fransisco Music Box Co. The only problem is she looks like she last belonged to a two-year-old.
I went to take off her wig and I can't ... I don't know how its attached to her head, to be honest. I don't want to ruin the doll or her clothing (which are made of velvet) I also don't want to ruin any of the mechanics of the music box.

I am planning to move on another place, and I want my room to be clean and you know.. a place where you could easily take your stress off. but then I realize that I love toys, preferably baby dolls, plushie animals, and Barbies and I want them to be scattered in my room. Has any one used Oxy10 to remove ballpoint ink from a baby doll face?
My daughter colored all over a rubber baby doll that use to be mine as a child. I have tried everything to get it off: hairspray, alcohol, nail polish remover, powder bleach, baking soda and water. I read online that if you take Oxy10 (acne treatment) and but it on the ink and put the doll under a light that it will remove the ink. Wondering if anyone has tried this or if anyone has another suggestion?|||I think Oxy10 might work to remove the color marks and did you try putting the doll in the washing machine as well??
How do open the eyes on my Taeyang doll?

What is the ratio to inches in a doll house?
I want to build a doll house and I need the specs to compare it to inches.|||standard "miniature" is 1" to 1' scale (1:12). That is considered typical dollhouse miniature scale. Most dollhouse furniture is found in this scale. There is also a smaller scale called half inch scale, which is 1:24. Furnishings are available, but they are limited.

How do I measure for a replacement composition doll body?
I have an antique Kestner 171 bisque doll head. It has a circumference of about 13 inches and a height of about 7 inches. I'm looking for a replacement composition body, but I don't know what size to get. I was thinking that I would probably need a body that measures about 21-21.5 inches. However, I'm not sure. These bodies can be quite expensive. Can anyone tell me how to measure so that I get the correct size? How to get yellow highlighter off a vinyl doll?
I have a peterkin new born doll that I bought for my daughter for christmas, but need to get yellow highlighter off it, what stuff is the best to use?|||Get some acne cream that has 10% Benzoil peroxide and put the cream on the spot. Put the doll in direct sunlight for a few hours. You may have to repeat the process a couple times but it will take it off.
How to put doll hair onto a Sculpy doll head?
What are some methods for attaching doll hair to sculpy doll heads? I'm just getting started with dolling, so advice is appreciated!|||Try using a skinny numbered crochet hook... the metal ones. Take strands of hair... a small section of them at a time and twice as long as you want them. Prepoke a hole with the hook into the head of the doll and then put some craft glue that dries clear into that hole and fold the hair in half over the hook and drive it into the hole. Carefully twist the hook out so that the hair stays in the hole and let it dry. You can continue all over the doll head making the holes a few centimeters apart until you cover the pattern for her head that you wish it to look like. Then let it all dry overnight and brush the hair the next day. Be sure you get enough glue in the hole so that all the strands going into that hole are held in the glue.|||There are various ways to do that by using clay or by using hair or other fibers in some way or other. One very realistic way to use fibers is to embed small groups of strands into a raw polymer clay head one at a time (with a cut-off needle eye), then bake, for example. But there are many other ways too.

How can I make my my Barbie doll have snake hair?
I am making a medusa doll and I have everything going good on it except the hair part.I have tried clay and fabric but thats doesnt work.So do you have any ideas?|||you can go to the craft store and buy roving (I know hobby lobby carries it as well as Hancock fabric), pull some out and twist it, then run it under very hot water to matte it together. You can put a bead to replicate the snake head. I would try to glue the twisted roving to the head. The best shoes like black marry jane shoes with nice kiddish socks. It would also help if you got a Petite coat to poof the dress out a little more. A nice touch would to draw cracks on your face or something?|||Ok, get the best foundation as possible... You know what, personally I don't want to explain all of this so I'm just going to give you a link to a really good make-up person! Here you go!

How do you add horns or elf ears to a Berenguer reborn doll?
I am looking for tips, instructions, pointers on how to add horns or elf ears to reborn doll projects. I have some in my collection and I have no idea how they get them on without making them look "stuck" on. I have seen some dolls with poly clay tails and I think they are really interesting, they look like part of the original doll. Thanks~|||Yep, you already had your answer- poly clay. If you can find the color to match the horns, etc, then you can use it to smooth and 'attach' them. If the doll cannot take the heat of the oven while they are baking (250 degrees for 15 minutes is average), then take them off carefully, with the smoothed attaching part, bake that on tin in a non-food toaster oven that has good degree controls (and use an oven thermometer, just in case), then take the entire new baked item, and glue it on with something like Fletch-Tite, or a superglue.

My Grand daughter will have a electric doll house with 12 volts of electricity. My husband has a Princess Diana doll and I want to found how much it's worth.|||It's probably worth a lot so I wouldn't mess with it or transport it to an appraiser to find out, he/she might not be honest with you in regards to the price/worth of the doll.

If the cotton is tightly packed into every cell, and you really want to wash the whole doll, it's probably possible in the machine on gentle or in a mesh bag in the machine or just in a sink or tub, but the drying will be the biggest problem. It will take a long time to get really dry all the way to the center of the inside, but you could make sure it gets lots of air circulation and warmth until it's totally done or at least close.
Otherwise, just clean the exterior of the doll by scrubbing with cleaning fluid or alcohol, or with water or with soap and water, or with some of that spray stuff used to clean upholstery.
Some of those will dry fairly quickly, but even if you use water and it gets down into the surface of the doll while cleaning at least it won't disturb the stuffing as much and will dry much more quickly once you're done.
If you do wash it and the cotton bunches in areas, you can rearrange the cotton to some degree by pushing a long stiff needle into the doll and moving the cotton to one side or the other with the needle a bit...might have to do that repeatedly.
You could also just make a slit down the back of the doll and remove the cotton stuffing. Then replace with polyester stuffing, or whatever you want. Sew the slit back together (probably by hand) or glue it...might need to overlap the sides or use a new strip of fabic or interfacing (even the iron-on kind) over the join, etc.|||I myself would try alcohol {not the drinking kind}on a small portion of the doll that cannot be seen.

Does it lower the value of an antique cloth doll to repair it?
This is a cloth doll that was reported to be about 100 years old. It had a tear at the neck. It looks to have some repairs which have been done by hand years (!) ago. The length armature is wooden and broken, thus the head slumps. First take the fabric glue and drizzle some on the top of the doll's head then sprinkle the hair onto it. Next, stitch a mouth onto the face and sew the buttons where the eyes should be. Now you're done with the doll. Make a wish and concentrate, then insert at least three pins into the body of the doll. The end.|||My boyfriend had a cheating problem too and it was really getting bad. As a last resort I found a site called africanmagick.com to try a Vodou spell to stop cheating. I was really impressed at how fast things turned around. Maybe this kind of thing would be right for you too.

*matchbox- paint it and put a little bit of cotton and some material to tuck around it. I would glue some of the matches (painted, too) as legs and use some carton to make runners to rock it

I'll try and see what I can find.|||hobby lobby should have kits that you assemble . or any hobby shop !|||I don't know if they'd be *wide* enough but you could cut an oatmeal box in half lengthwise... leaving the *end* piece of each half attached, but removing the opposite end piece of each half. Then overlap the halves, and tape or glue them together.
You can then paint the box ,or apply thinned white glue to it and cover with fabric.
You could also use papier mache... find a form that's about the right size and shape, cover it with plastic wrap or aluminum foil so it won't be damaged, then lay strips of papier mache over it in a few layers. When dry lift it off of the form, and paint.
For a very simple form, roll a small towel to the approximate width and height you want, press it down to a work surface to flatten the bottom a bit, then cover with foil-plastic wrap and begin the papier mache-ing.
To make round-bottomed cribs stand on their own, glue 4 feet (wood beads, etc.) onto the bottom so they won't wobble, or use two long strips of something on each long side of the bottom.
If you want to make it square-bottom instead of rounded, use a box --either as the crib itself, or as a form for putting the papier-mache on.
You could use a washcloth, or bit of batting, or various other things to make a "mattress".

How does one remove non-water soluble glue from the face of an antique bisque doll?
I bought an antique Armand Marseille doll on ebay awhile back. Although it was not listed in the description and could not be seen from the pics, someone had tried to reset the dolls eyes and teeth with non-water soluble glue. I was able to loosen the glue enough to remove the eyes and teeth so that I could properly reset them, but there is glue on her face that won't come off with soap and warm water. Alternate methods are to throw it over your shoulder into the middle of a crossroads or bury it in a jar packed with pot ash and salt. You can burn it, but you have to dispose of the ashes by one of the methods described above.
Also, keep in mind that the tradition idea of the Voodoo doll is unique to New Orleans Voodoo. If the doll is of Haitian or West African origin then it was made to serve a completely different purpose.|||Voodoo dolls only work (if you believe in that kind of stuff) if they have a personal item of the person that you are casting a spell on attached to them.
You need to remove the personal item and then burn the doll. Burning the doll while the personal item is there could cause the person to be burned if the doll is an actual working doll.

Can you program your baby think it over doll to only wake up at certain times?
I am getting a baby think it over doll just for fun and I have a health problem that acts up when I dont get enough sleep so is there any way that I can program the doll to not wake me up at night and only need me during the day? How much would a 1991 doll, in good condition, be worth?
It is a Holiday Memories Special Edition Doll. It's wearing a white nightgown and is carrying a teddy bear.It is in wonderful condition|||I have never seen a Holiday Memories Special edition Barbie in a night gown with a teddy bear. I do not believe this is a Mattel product. First you need to let us know if the doll is plastic or porcelain. Lift the hair so you can see the back of the neck and give the name of the factory, the height will also help. In the box should be the COA that will also give more information. I know that Precious Moments made a Little angel in a white gown not sure about a bear.

So any ideas?|||Your Terry Lee is a reproduction or newer model made from the original dolls from the 1950's. I would think closer to the holidays your doll should sell but you need to have her listed before Thanksgiving.
