How do I get old paint off of a nylon stocking type of doll?

Its a heirloom doll and I tried nail polish remover but it didn't do much.|||I just bought a product last week that lifted dried latex paint from my carpet... it left a light spot, but it is OK with me compared to the paint. the product is called OOPS! I think I got it at a major department store.
