What age is it safe for a child to have a electric lighted doll house?

My Grand daughter will have a electric doll house with 12 volts of electricity. I wonder how safe this is for a child of age 3?|||I have a four year that loves things that plugged in but I have to watch him. Maybe test it to see how she does. I would watch her close at first. If the cord is removable maybe take it out for about six months and then try it again.|||If you're granddaughter is normal, then 4 or 5. If she is a drooling retard, then never.|||Sorry, I think she is to young, that could lead to her being hurt. Save it until she is older. How to make a primitive raggedy ann doll?

Can anyone tell me how to get started in the prim, primitive doll making.|||Go to this website: www.patternpage.com they have tons of patterns for primitive raggies and all things primitive :).

Have fun!|||Hi

I love making dolls. Anyway I've made this one which is quite easy.

http://www.sewing.circleofcrafters.com/f鈥?/a>

For the hair, I used thin yarn and a thick needle so the yarn could fit through the eye of the needle.

For the face I just used a permanent marker. The clothes were easy. I used some scrap material and made a little dress and an apron. It turned out very sweet.

How do found how a princess diana doll is worth?

My husband has a Princess Diana doll and I want to found how much it's worth.|||It's probably worth a lot so I wouldn't mess with it or transport it to an appraiser to find out, he/she might not be honest with you in regards to the price/worth of the doll.

Just keep it in good condition and let it increase in value.

edit: On the other hand if you really need to know that worth of the doll for insurance then I would go to an appraiser that is recommendable and you know that he/she will be honest with you.

Cheers|||Check finished eBay listings for the doll. See whether that type of doll is selling, and if so, what the final bids are. (Don't go by the asking prices on unsold dolls; people can and do ask ridiculously high prices for items. The real value is whatever people are willing to pay.)

An appraiser may set a higher price on the doll than the eBay selling price, but remember that if you sell it to a dealer, you will only get a wholesale offer (usually about half of what the dealer thinks she can sell it for). eBay sales reflect what people are actually willing to pay for the item.|||Your HUSBAND has a princess Diana doll?

What is the name of the product to grow hair faster with Japanese doll?

All I remember is seeing this product online and on the side there is an animation of a little Japanese doll that keeps growing her hair out again and again. Does anyone know what it is called?|||I don't know either, but I can tell you that in Japan this product called "ELENCE 2001" is a common hair growth product for women. How do I get old paint off of a nylon stocking type of doll?

How do I wash a doll filled with ABSORBENT cotton?

So I have a doll filled with absorbent cotton, can I wash it normally like any other doll, or will washing it destroy its form?

It's a doll in the shape of a person, much like a plushie, only filled with absorbent cotton.|||That could depend on how tightly the cotton is packed, how large a space the cotton takes up in each "cell" it's stuffed into, how bit the doll actually is, whether any other parts of the doll would be damaged by washing, and whether you really need to clean the interior of the doll as well as the exterior.

If the cotton is tightly packed into every cell, and you really want to wash the whole doll, it's probably possible in the machine on gentle or in a mesh bag in the machine or just in a sink or tub, but the drying will be the biggest problem. It will take a long time to get really dry all the way to the center of the inside, but you could make sure it gets lots of air circulation and warmth until it's totally done or at least close.

Otherwise, just clean the exterior of the doll by scrubbing with cleaning fluid or alcohol, or with water or with soap and water, or with some of that spray stuff used to clean upholstery.

Some of those will dry fairly quickly, but even if you use water and it gets down into the surface of the doll while cleaning at least it won't disturb the stuffing as much and will dry much more quickly once you're done.

If you do wash it and the cotton bunches in areas, you can rearrange the cotton to some degree by pushing a long stiff needle into the doll and moving the cotton to one side or the other with the needle a bit...might have to do that repeatedly.

You could also just make a slit down the back of the doll and remove the cotton stuffing. Then replace with polyester stuffing, or whatever you want. Sew the slit back together (probably by hand) or glue it...might need to overlap the sides or use a new strip of fabic or interfacing (even the iron-on kind) over the join, etc.|||I myself would try alcohol {not the drinking kind}on a small portion of the doll that cannot be seen.

Does it lower the value of an antique cloth doll to repair it?

How do I make a Voodoo doll that actually works?

I'm not in a lucky mood right now, and I've got some big stuff coming up. I've heard that wishing or charming a voodoo doll can bring luck to people. Probably not true, but worth a shot. How do I make one?|||What you'll need:

A large chunk of hair from the person you wish to inflict pain on (because you have to for the wish to work)

Buttons the EXACT shade of the aforementioned person's eyes

A doll without any features or embellishments (this means no eyes or mouth or hair)

A sewing needle and thread(preferably red)

Some fabric glue

Pins for when you're finished :)

First take the fabric glue and drizzle some on the top of the doll's head then sprinkle the hair onto it. Next, stitch a mouth onto the face and sew the buttons where the eyes should be. Now you're done with the doll. Make a wish and concentrate, then insert at least three pins into the body of the doll. If you want to increase your luck and make yourself feel more in charge, get some basil, rosemary, and salt. Put a teaspoon of all three in a 'baby food' sized jar, and add about two tablespoons of olive oil. Shake the bottle, and concentrate on good luck flowing towards you.

How do you make a small doll crib about 10 inches long?

Does anyone know of a simple way to make a crib for a small 9.5 inch doll? Where I don't have to use a saw or crochet? Something easy. Thanks.|||Hi there! :)

Try these suggestions if it's for a dollhouse:

*matchbox- paint it and put a little bit of cotton and some material to tuck around it. I would glue some of the matches (painted, too) as legs and use some carton to make runners to rock it

*Here's a cradle:

http://members.tripod.com/~cwoolse/minip鈥?/a>

I'll add more if I find them...

Hope this helps!

UPDATE:

Sorry, I just realized you wrote 10 inches long, not for a doll house. I'll try and see what I can find.|||hobby lobby should have kits that you assemble . or any hobby shop !|||I don't know if they'd be *wide* enough but you could cut an oatmeal box in half lengthwise... leaving the *end* piece of each half attached, but removing the opposite end piece of each half. Then overlap the halves, and tape or glue them together.

You can then paint the box ,or apply thinned white glue to it and cover with fabric.

You could also use papier mache... find a form that's about the right size and shape, cover it with plastic wrap or aluminum foil so it won't be damaged, then lay strips of papier mache over it in a few layers. When dry lift it off of the form, and paint.

For a very simple form, roll a small towel to the approximate width and height you want, press it down to a work surface to flatten the bottom a bit, then cover with foil-plastic wrap and begin the papier mache-ing.

To make round-bottomed cribs stand on their own, glue 4 feet (wood beads, etc.) onto the bottom so they won't wobble, or use two long strips of something on each long side of the bottom.

If you want to make it square-bottom instead of rounded, use a box --either as the crib itself, or as a form for putting the papier-mache on.

You could use a washcloth, or bit of batting, or various other things to make a "mattress".

How do I get my Antique Doll to sell?

I have an Antique German Bisque Kestner 171 Doll that I have been trying to sell for a long time. Search for organizations of people who collect antique dolls and contact them directly about how to spread the word among their members.

You might also look for organizations about German culture, ceramicists, and people interested in vintage fashion, (assuming your doll has the original or at least period clothes.) People who are really into fashion know that before the invention of fashion magazines, (bundled from drawings or "plates,") dressed dolls were used to spread fashion trends.

What is the best age for a girl to enjoy a Barbie doll?

I'm planning to give a Barbie doll to a little girl, but she is only 4 years old right now. I'm sewing doll clothes for the Barbie and I think I should wait until she is around 6 years old when she receives this. When do you think is the perfect age for a girl to enjoy playing with a Barbie doll?|||Any age, I love Barbie!|||My 4-year old niece loves Barbie. I will say that I agree about the messing up part. She has taken marker to some, cut hair on some, and others have the hair that sticks up, from carrying them by their hair. LOL

Also, she won't appreciate your wonderful clothes at that age either. My niece's dolls are barely dressed.

Maybe give her a Barbie this year and put aside the clothes until age 6. I will say that 4-year olds love the Barbie cars and horses.

I collect dolls, and love Barbies in my collection. I've had to set aside several dolls for her to enjoy when she's older. I just know what she does to them now, and don't want them ruined.|||You can give it to her now, but she'll probably mess it up. Waiting till 6 is a good idea.

How can i describe a scary doll using personification and similes?

I am writing a gothic novel and i need to describe a scary doll using personification and similes. Any other toy descriptions would be helpful aswell,|||His cold eyes stared at me, fixated on mine as they filled with tears. His silver hair shone in the moonlight which filled the room like a flood from the window. His unusual, freakish, never ending smile sent shivers down my back, like a spider crawling along my spine as he laughed at my fear.

How can i describe a scary doll using personification and similes?

I am writing a gothic novel and i need to describe a scary doll using personification and similes. Any other toy descriptions would be helpful aswell, describe it eyes, clothing, hair, smile, body and skin.|||Well, since personification is a figure of speech in which an inanimate object is personified, by attributing human traits and qualities to it, a few examples for a scary doll could be:

"The doll beckoned to me, yet I was hesitant." - because the doll's hand is not real, but it beckons you as if real.

And similes are VERY easy. You take a feature of the doll and compare it to anything else using "like" or "as." Like this:

"It's eyes were like that of a cat about to pounce and it's porcelain skin was as cold as ice." - because your comparing her eyes to a cats eyes and her skin to ice.

What is the best way to get rid of a Voodoo doll?

My girlfriend just realized that one of the dolls in her doll collection from childhood, is a Voodoo doll.

Her dad bought it for her on a trip to Louisiana in 1977.|||Why get rid of it as it is no more than a superstition? Besides it is not a real voodoo doll, simply one that is marketed as being one as a novelty to take the money of tourists.

L8r|||There is no need to dispose of it. Louisiana Voodoo dolls are made for specific people - they are not a problem for anyone else. Personally, I would keep it just for the novelty of the thing.

But if you must dispose of it, the "proper" method is to throw it into running water. Alternate methods are to throw it over your shoulder into the middle of a crossroads or bury it in a jar packed with pot ash and salt. You can burn it, but you have to dispose of the ashes by one of the methods described above.

Also, keep in mind that the tradition idea of the Voodoo doll is unique to New Orleans Voodoo. If the doll is of Haitian or West African origin then it was made to serve a completely different purpose.|||Voodoo dolls only work (if you believe in that kind of stuff) if they have a personal item of the person that you are casting a spell on attached to them.

A Tuxedo complete with dorky bowtie

And be shiny, that's the key

Plastic hair wig, which you can get from a party supply store you just have to search for it, you know what I'm talking about, it's a latex wig for your hair that is premolded. If you can't do that then go for a short hair bobbed wig and make the bangs part on the side of the head, for complete and dorky50's look, feel free to use barretts.

Use a lot of make up and little powder, so your oil on the skin eventually bleeds in, but be careful that you don't begin smudging.

big eyes, mascara for years, get a friend to paint "fake" eyes on your eyelids, so you have the look of never blinking.

Eyeliner for freckles, brown

And most importantly drawn the mouth lines, from the corners of your lips draw straight lines down to the jaw and then square out the chin, so you have the ventriloquist doll face.

How much would a 1991 doll, in good condition, be worth?

It is a Holiday Memories Special Edition Doll. It's wearing a white nightgown and is carrying a teddy bear.It is in wonderful condition|||I have never seen a Holiday Memories Special edition Barbie in a night gown with a teddy bear. I do not believe this is a Mattel product. First you need to let us know if the doll is plastic or porcelain. Lift the hair so you can see the back of the neck and give the name of the factory, the height will also help. In the box should be the COA that will also give more information. I know that Precious Moments made a Little angel in a white gown not sure about a bear.

I know Madame Alexander made an 8" doll in a night gown with a bear for Christmas Holidays.

How do I start to make a wax doll?

Could someone please help me?||| Casting wax, which is much stronger than candle wax and petroleum wax, is available at art supply and jewelry making places. It actually comes in various hardnesses from carving to soft forming. If making a large wax object - and a person is certainly large - it is normal to make it in pieces and "weld" the pieces together using a palette knife or spatula heated in an alcohol flame. The pieces may be formed by casting, from flat sheets made by flowing wax onto glass with edge strips to keep it in place or by melting it on water in a cake pan and lifting it off as it gets cool. Most of the techniques of slab building clay sculpture will work. For what you want to do, you will need to learn the techniques of doll making.||| The first thing to do

|||Not being Hopi i can only extrapolate from my modest amount of study in the area. Unquestionably, the carved figures are very artistic and beautiful and intriguing and can be viewed as "art".

But beyond that fact, i believe that each figure if created by an "in tune" artist, and by that i mean a Hopi carver, with true knowledge of the Hopi mythology, is also a container for the sacred energies associated with the Being it represents.

In a real sense, then, each figure properly created is a religious icon which carries the "power" of the subject Being. Those sensitive to "energies" can feel the emanation of the Being's "presence/vibration".

One of my personal favorites is the "Blue Star Kachina", which, as i recall, is associated with the Sirius star system. And, as the Hopi prophecy says: When the Blue Star Kachina appears in the sky, the Fifth (new) World will arise.

What can I do with my 1958 Shirley Temple doll?

Hi fellow Senior Citizens,

Does anybody out there still have a Shirley Temple doll? My doll isn't in collector shape, so now what to do? I am thinking of making doll clothes for my naked as a jaybird doll and passing it along to my 3 grandnieces. Any suggestions?|||I'd call around and ask what it's worth. Even though it might not be in the best of shape, there could be people out there who could restore it and make more money off of it.

I'm sure that doll is worth a hefty price...I'd try to find out.|||There's one in my family also! How to make a good looking doll with a 99 cent doll?

I want to put some materials together and make a nice looking doll out of a bratz and or 99 cent doll. I mean kind of how you M. Alice did when she made a Dinah doll (I would pay for her to make it but it is waaaaay to expensive). You know how you can do make-up things with a dollfie. I was thinking to design a doll to make it look better my way. What kind of paint I need you know? Oh and by the way, How much is a bleeding edge doll and where can you buy them?|||Ebay should have all the materials and all the informational books that you need to do this. I looked into it once and then decided that I didn't have steady enough hands to re-paint and re-work a doll. They are called OOAK dolls on Ebay and you can look under that for one of a kind dolls, for instructions and materials on how to do this, you can look under re-painting dolls instructions or materials, whichever you choose to look under first. There is also a wealth of info on the internet under the same headings.|||so u have made one with the cheap material|||I don't know how to repaint but I can tell you a simple thing to do that makes the dolls look pretty awesome when they are finished. When you are styling the hair, sew beads into the hairdo. The way I usually start mine is to decide how I want to do the hair and then just find a spot that won't show and tie a knot around it with the thread and start stringing beads and sewing them in. Make sure the thread you use won't show too badly in the hair or just make sure you have enough beads to cover all the thread. It makes for some pretty elegant looking hair styles.

I had bought a doll from a lady in a group- the doll's hair was so knotted and tangled that by the time I got done getting all the tangles out, she had some bald spots. I put the hair in a ponytail and did the beadwork in it- you would never know that doll is missing some hair under the ponytail!

I think you would use acrylic paints to do your repaint. And even if you don't think you're quite ready for a full repaint yet- you could always do little touches to the doll to make it look a little different. I have redressed quite a few dolls and just added a little bit of shiny nail polish around the eyes or lips to change the makeup color or just touch it up a bit. And also- if the doll is just meant to be a display doll and won't be handled a lot- if you are going for a shiny or sparkly look on the eyes- any kind of makeup you have that has a sparkle to it, you can apply that on the existing eye makeup to give it some shine and sparkle. I've done that a few times too.

I hope this helps. I'm not a repaint artist- just someone who has done the best at restyling dolls with the limited talents I have.

What type of adhesive do I use to repair my porcelain doll?

I have a 44" doll porcelain head, shoulders, stuffed body, porcelain lower arms and lower leg. She fell over, on hrdwood floor. Apparently stand was too small to support her weight. Clean break completely across back of shoulder, separating front shoulder with head from back shoulder blades. Would like to reglue, and of course super glue doesn't bond to this porous material. Designer numbered doll. Any suggestions? And if know where I can find a taller, sturdier stand as I have no carpeting for a soft landing, should this happen again.|||I took a ceramics class and my favorite piece broke. My teacher was a very well-known potter in the mid-west named Paul Dressang. He suggested regular Elmer's glue and it worked like a dream. That was a number of years ago and my piece is still holding up. Supposedly, the bond will be as strong the actual material. This works because the material is porous. It will work with all clays, woods, etc. The nice thing about it is that Elmer's dries clear so you won't see it.|||You could try gorilla glue. But this stuff goes crazy. It expands something fierce. If you tape off the other sections of the doll so that nothing gets on it. Like you do with a car. Try tape and newspaper. Then apply the glue more to the inside so that if it seeps out it doesn't go too far. You might be able to file it down afterward if it gets too much ooze after drying.

As far as a stand. Why not try to put some kind of hangers on the clothing and hang it on the wall. Picture hooks are for a lot of weight. Get heavy ones. Maybe you can get fish line and run it under the arms and around the chest. Then in the back hang it on the wall. They have heavy test of fishing line too. I know both the hangers and the fish line go up to at least 30 pounds. Maybe more but I'm only sure of 30 pound at the most. If one hook doesn't work try 2. But I have hung clotheslines on the 30 pound hooks. Held maybe 6 or 7 wet full size towels.

You might also want to try putting large paper clips onto the string. I hang pics with these too. Then they don't fall off of the string. And if you want to you can tack the clips to the wall and squeeze the clip so that it is snug with the clip. Hope this helps.|||first, you must apply a coating mixture of borax or something that could create a new surface for quick and durable adhesion, hen you might want to use mighty bond or bulldog brand power glue for a more powerful adhesion and better result coz it does not leave any unusual pigment behind after application. try to invest on a personalized stand for your doll, for it would be better if it is custom made.|||As this doll most likely has monetary value, I would take her to a reputable doll doctor.|||you could take it to a "doctor doll" place|||get a glue specifically for repair of china, however actual porcelain is not very absorbant, thats why it will hold water even when its not glazed. you need to have someone make a stand wood with a large base and quite heavy. maybe a broom stick back, then use wire coathanger to make the wire to go under her arms to hold her up, but wrap it with electrical tape so it cant rust and ruin her clothing. shes a big baby, or you could put her in a childs rocker, rather than have her standing.

How to get rid of a strong smell in a doll?

I have this doll that was placed on top of a cover to one of those airwicks. The airwick wasn't on but I guess the cover was enough to do some serious damage to the doll, it stinks! We soaked it and then washed it a few times, we let it soak in vinegar and then wash it and still, the smell is pretty strong. Any suggestions??|||Try a cedar chest with moth balls.|||Try putting the doll in a box or any type of container that seals completely, with an open box of baking soda, and leave it for at least a couple days. The baking soda should absorb a lot of the odor. Also, maybe just putting the doll outside whenever possible to air-out might help. These things...and time..will hopefully work!|||Put ground coffee in a box or bag. Wrap the doll in a paper towel and enclose the doll with the grounds. I think 24 hours would be enough time.|||I would put the doll in a bag with backing soda and if that didn't work I'd clean the doll with warm water and backing soda. How can I remove dust from antique doll clothing?

I have a pre-WWII Japanese Geisha doll that is fixed to her stand. She and her clothing were hand made, and I want to restore her. She is covered in dust, and it's making the colors look faded on her kimono. I've used a makeup brush(bought new just for this project) and a can of air to remove most of it, but there is still a lot that I can't get. Any suggestions on how to remove it without damaging her?|||When I was much younger my parents did a lot of crafting with stained glass. One of their projects was to make a display case for a doll just like you described, which my uncle owned. Once the case was made my mom had the chore of cleaning the doll before it was enclosed in the case.

Back then the cosmetic brush was available but the canned air was not so my mom used an infants nasal aspirator (the blue bulb thing used to clean the mucus out of an infants nose when they have a cold.) I seem to recall that this worked quite well. For the really hard to reach areas my mom purchase a contour eye shadow brush. The bristles were stiffer then a regular eye shadow brush, and the whole shape was kind of like a wedge. The bristles at one end were shorter then the bristles at the other end.

I am also thinking that a tiny stencil brush might work, but only if the fabric of the dolls clothing is in really good shape.

Good Luck|||If you have a vacuum cleaner with a hose (a shop-vac is probably too harsh, tho), you can consider borrowing a technique that museums sometimes use to clean 100-year-old quilts, and vacuum the doll.

Cut a piece of fiberglass (no metal!) screening at least 6" square (a square bigger than the height of the doll is better protection) and bind the edges with masking tape, making sure there are no 'wires' poking through. Put a new bag in the vac, put the dusting brush attachment (make sure it's clean, tho) on the vac's hose and set the suction to be as gentle as possible. Press the piece of screen gently but securely on a section of the doll (you may need a second person to help steady her), and slowly bring the vacuum nozzle near the screen. Press the screen firmly enough to hold everything in place but not so hard you damage the doll. The screen holds any loose bits in place and protects the doll and clothes. You can move the brush slowly over the screen (but not very close to the edges) as long as everything is ok on the doll. Stop immediately if anything seems to be coming loose or there's any kind of problem. Turn the vac off and reposition the piece of screen as needed. Work your way over the parts of the doll you want to clean, being extra-careful near the hair and face. If the hair seems to want to move much, you can carefully tie a piece of gauze, cheesecloth, or nylon stocking around it first.

Quilt conservators say vacuuming can remove 75-90% of the dust and dirt on an old quilt, so it should help the doll quite a bit, too. Good luck.|||In view of the age and dust condition of the doll, i suggest you only use a soft gentle brush on your doll.

Just tickle off the dust a bit at a time, with a swirling motion of the brush.

Please do not use a vacuum cleaner, as this will dislodge more than the dust, and perhaps ruin your doll, vacuum cleaners have a very powerful suction.

I work in a dolls museum, and we only ever use a soft blusher brush very gently. Sometimes it takes weeks to get all the dust from these beautiful delicate dolls?

Where can you get a siamese doll goldfish?

Where can you get a siamese doll goldfish, calico siamese doll goldfish, or a black siamese doll goldfish in SF stores?|||Google "Aqualand" and do a site search for Siamese doll goldfish. You just might have to order them from the far east...

How do I determine how much the doll i made should sell for?

I have just designed my very own doll, and i am planning to sell it. The only problem with that is that i don't know how much to charge for it. I know i have to include all the stuff i paid for and some money for the work i did, but what about the taxes and stuff. Can someone please help me?|||Start with a reasonable hourly pay for the time to make it. Then add the cost of the materials. Then double that. The doubling takes care of your having pay for saving for income taxes, retirement, medical insurance, advertising and shipping of the doll.

Of course, unless it is a fantastic doll, the chances are low of your selling any at that price against similar looking dolls (less well made perhaps) from China. So you cut your price to what might sell compared to other domestic dolls. and if you can live with the lower price and still survive you put that price on it.

Just like any other artist or craftsman.

How do you make fake milk for doll bottles?

I want it to look real, like the doll bottles that you purchase at the store. I don't want it to be still, I like the look that it gives when it's all watery and moving, not a solid mass.

This is how they film milk for TV and print, as natural milk appears slightly blue-ish on film|||Sad that I know this, but flour and water. How do I get a wooden doll unstuck?

My daughter received a wooden doll as a gift from Germany, but it may be a traditional Russian gift. It is a doll in two parts, a top and a bottom, and we think that there are other, smaller dolls inside. 1. Try some hairspray. Spray it on the spots and see if you can rub it clean.

2. Mr Clean Magic Eraser. Wet and scrub lightly. Many times this will remove the ink spots. It is also great for getting the oily residue off your doll. Be careful around face paint and eyes.

3. Oxy10 Zit Cream. This is a bleaching method to remove the stain. It takes some time to work. Dab a small amount on the stain. Allow this to sit for 24 hours. wash off. if it has not gone away repeat over the course of a week. Sometimes allowing the doll with Oxy to sit in a sunny sport will help the creams bleaching powers.

4. If none of the above work she will need to go to the doll hospital for a limb replacement. I would only do this if it really bothers you.

His unusual, freakish, never ending smile sent shivers down my back, like a spider crawling along my spine as he laughed at my fear.|||The doll had hair as black as the darkest night and eyes that seemed follow me as I moved around. It was mesmerizing. Again and again, it lured me into its tempting glare. As cold and limp as a lifeless child and, yet, as alive in my thoughts as any lurking creature that wishes to carefully feast upon every last inch of me....starting with the fear it tastes in every corner of my soul.

How can I update a doll cotume/dance routine and make it look good?

I am writing an indoor routine for my winter guard. If youre not sure what winter guard is, its flags and rifles and dance, etc. The theme I am considering is a doll idea. But, its needs to be updated, and the girls on my guard would really like techno in the show. Do you have any ideas on how to make the costumes? Or any techno that you think I could get to work? Any feedback of any kind is appreciated. Thank you.|||To update dolls, this makes me think of the robot/uniform look. I think the Jacksons may have overused this idea already, but if you look at the style Britney Spears used in Oops video (with space uniforms), obviously it is still popular. You may get ideas from anime videos, with Japanese heroines in futuristic outfits. In general, anything that looks "metallic" or "leather" might look more updated or futuristic. I think at the hardware store they sell metallic sheets that can be stuck to glass instead of replacing with real mirrors. Spray paint usually is not silver-smooth enough. For fake leather, home decorating materials may offer vinyl adhesives that you can cut and stick on to the surfaces to keep costumes lightweight.|||put some boooty into it =]

How can I make myself look like a doll or puppet?

So for Halloween my friends and I are dressing up like puppets/dummies/dolls from the horror movie "Dead Silence." I don't know how to come off as a demonic puppet doll. All I have as an idea is dark makeup and two line reaching from the corners of my mouth down to look like a mechanical mouth. Any ideas in terms of hair and clothes?|||Use very shiny makeup. Do not blend colors, Use just 2 or 3 solid colors in large patterns as if somebody spent just 30 seconds painting you.|||For your hair do like fake dreads or pigtails with ribbons. For clothes just wear something a little kid would wear|||Ok well if you want sexy wear a skirt with nude leggings ang some high heels with a type corset shirt thing|||ask chucky

A too literal "sweet doll" costume would come off as super creepy ~ If you were bright and cheery and actually trying to be a happy playful doll ~ I think it would lot like your holding on to your childhood too tightly|||Well get a lolita costume..or Japanese school girl..thatz Wat I'm doing|||forget whats said and do as you choose
